Micro/Macro Poster

The art of presenting information in a way that can be understood quickly and effectively is the essence of information design. This is the topic of “Micro/Macro Readings” from Edward Tufte’s Envisioning Information, where detail is broken down to be perceived at two important scales, macro and micro. The macro detail is in the grid-based layout, providing visual hierarchy and guidance, while the micro detail connects the reading to the images in support of the author’s points. Vivian-Rose Acuff represents her micro detail through thoughtful placement, maintaining the context that connects the reading to the images while allowing them to exist in their own space.
